Food a crowd actually finishes

Fried chicken is the easy answer for a party, and it holds up on a buffet table. Country fried steak with gravy, chicken and dumplings, beef tips over rice and meatloaf with tomato gravy all come off our lunch line and travel well. The second meat follows the weekday, so tell us the day and we will tell you what is cooking.

On the side, baked macaroni and cheese and green beans are the two nobody leaves behind. Mashed potatoes and gravy, lima beans, steamed cabbage and cole slaw round it out. Cornbread goes with all of it.

Dessert by the pan

Peach cobbler and pecan pie come by the pan for catering. A Google reviewer this fall took pecan pie to go and asked who passes on pecan pie. If you only add one thing to a party order, add dessert.

Church groups and family gatherings

We cater for church groups and family gatherings in St Andrews. Big Mama's has cooked in downtown Panama City for over 20 years, and a lot of the people calling for a party first came in for breakfast. If somebody at the gathering does not eat meat, a tray of sides covers them, since our veggie plate is just four sides.

Weekend parties and planning

If your party is on a Saturday or Sunday, know that our weekend kitchen runs a brunch menu from 9, so say the day when you call and we will tell you what we can cook for it. Tell us the headcount and whether you will pick up or want the food brought over. Pickup is at the counter at 620 W Beach Dr with a free lot out front. We do not post catering prices because every party is different.
